The City Parks Alliance is a leader in the urban parks movement. This city parks movement encompasses the myriad organizations dedicated to championing high quality urban parks throughout the nation. The City Parks Alliance is vital to sound public policy that recognizes city parks as an integral part of forming stronger, more vibrant cities that nurture their citizens from every walk of life.
Our vision for urban parks is by 2020 everyone in urban America will live within walking distance of a park that is clean, safe and vibrant.

- Enhance the capacity of communities to achieve their vision for urban parks.
- Advocate for greater government and community investment in urban parks.
- Create a nationwide media campaign that makes the case for greater investment in city parks.
- Create and facilitate partnerships with organizations involved in, but not limited to, health, economic development, community development, education, recreation, environmental justice and environmental sustainability.
- Build an excellent organization with capacity to achieve our mission.
